We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Account Manager to join our team in a hunting-focused role. This position is ideal for a proactive business developer who thrives on identifying new opportunities, building relationships from the ground up, and driving growth in untapped markets. You’ll be responsible for expanding BASF’s footprint by acquiring new customers and unlocking new revenue streams across targeted industries, as well as maintaining an existing territory of customers. This role will drive sales of surfactants, polymers, methane sulfonic acid, and chelates along with other key chemistries.
You will be joining a team that shows up every day to work collaboratively across functions to win for the overall success of the team. This role is remote and can be located anywhere in the continental US, with proximity to a major airport as it is expected up to 50% of overnight traveling.
As a Account Manager, Industrial Formulators, you create chemistry by...
- Developing and maintaining sales relationships with Industrial Formulators accounts across CASE raw materials, construction, and chemical manufacturing segments, while hunting for new customers and retaining existing ones.
- Building multi-level relationships, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while further developing under-represented markets.
- Identifying innovation needs and aligning BASF’s capabilities to fulfill them, while continuously refreshing internal understanding of customer requirements.
- Steering Care Chemicals' efforts with customers through sales development, quotations, and development projects.
- Conducting in-person visits to customers and BASF sites, and implementing strategic growth plans to measurably increase product sales.
If you...
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business
- Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in account management, sales, or related customer facing experience
- Are able to hunt for new customers and market applications
- Consider you are a strategic-thinker focused on results and the ability to identify new business opportunities
- Have excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills
- Possess strong organizational skills and ability to analyze data & industry trends

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $128,000 - $160,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
