We are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic individual to manage our operations predominantly in the Eastern Counties, as well as additional areas beyond this region. The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified with extensive and relevant experience in agriculture. We offer a comprehensive package, including a company car, and provide the autonomy and support infrastructure needed to excel in this role.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As Product Development Specialist UK (Biennials and Leafies) your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering collaboration between R&D, marketing, and sales functions to support the overall product development agenda and drive demand creation.
  • Effectively design and execute local trial plans, ensuring quality data collection and customer feedback.
  • Defining and presenting variety value propositions and positioning based on precise data analysis and customer feedback.
  • Acting as an internal and external technical reference, providing expert knowledge to support sales and drive customer success with BASF Nunhems.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends, collaborating with regional and local stakeholders to develop action plans.
  • Developing and leading the implementation of innovative growing concepts tailored to local key customers and markets.

Please note for this position:

  • You will be expected to work extended hours during peak season.
  • Requires regular domestic travel to visit trials and customers, and occasional international travel as required.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • An Agriculture, or similar, Bachelor's degree with extensive relevant experience or a Master's degree with proven applicable experience, preferably in cultivating carrots, leeks, lettuce, and/or spinach.
  • Strong collaboration skills, market knowledge, and a commercial mindset with a focus on achieving results.
  • Demonstrated professional initiative, autonomy, accountability, and a customer-focused outlook with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in experimentation, agronomical skills relevant to the crop, and professional planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
  • Advanced use of productivity tools and a solid understanding of statistics, databases, as well as data analysis and interpretation skills.

Location: Remote, East Midlands / East Anglia preferrable
