KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
The Area Technical Developer is considered the BASF Agricultural Solutions champion, part of the Marketing organization, to provide firsthand adequate technical support within the value chain across various customer segments, Farmers, Retailers, Key Accounts, and distributors, from BASF into the market.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the definition of the local area development plans and to the achievement of the local area business objectives & KPIs through its implementation :
1. Closely cooperate with the Country Technical Manager, Crop Manager, Marcom Manager and Sales Team on the implementation of the area market development plan based on the Go-to-market strategy.
2. Support the new product presentation, campaigns and launch, the current product development and old product revitalization through arranging visits and applicative trials & demonstrations, technical/commercial meetings, and other promotional operations to be implemented on a local area level.
3. Guarantee technical support for the relative sales network and commercial stakeholders including support during negotiations and during handling & involvement of customer complaint resolutions for products already in use in the field .
4. Effectively promote & support BASF portfolio with customer segments in all planned on the ground activations as well as enabling distributor teams with proper training to equip them to promote BASF portfolio in the utmost way.
5. Providing ongoing Market Insights & relevant updates to enhance business footprint & increase consumer conversion in local area including and not limited to: BASF portfolio, Competition product , crop patterns, diseases and pests, consumer feedback and market trends as well as effective contribution with technical data, and trials results ongoing & specific to during launch periods. Also, contribute to the compilation of lists of products recommended by the advisors themselves for more understanding and identification of potential opportunities & gaps .
QUALIFICATIONS
• BSc in Agriculture or similar
• 5+ years of experience in agriculture industry- field and research experiences.
• Significant hands-on experience in farming operations
• Ability to execute and implementation of set plans thoroughly.
• Passionate, creative, self-driven, and results oriented.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Ambitious for learning and growing.
• Strong Team player
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done.
• Excellent English and Arabic language and writing skills.
• PC skills –Windows environment including word, excel, PowerPoint.
• Agile and ability to embrace change.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communication with the customers / colleagues in order to maintain and sustain good relations
