RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful incumbent will be responsible for legal advice, document preparation, and compliance management for the BASF Group in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Duties will include the following:

  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and related documents

  • Conduct in-depth legal research

  • Update stakeholders on regulatory developments

  • Assist with compliance investigations and risk assessments

  • Support the development and rollout of compliance training programs and internal policies

  • Manage litigation matters

  • Assist the organization with company secretarial needs

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's of Laws (LLB)

  • Preferably licensed as a Legal Practitioner with 1 to 3 years of experience at a reputable law firm

  • Experience in using legal databases and commonly used IT applications

  • Proficient in analytical and research skills with good knowledge of law

  • Organized, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
