Function: HR Manager

Department: Human Resources

Reporting to: CEO

General Responsibilities:

● Define, validate, oversee, and monitor the implementation of the HR strategy f Baobab+.

● Act as the liaison between General Management and staff by managing soc relations within the organization.

● Advise and provide expertise to various departments.

Operational/Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Define the HR strategy and policy in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives (employment, compensation, training, workforce planning, working conditions, social climate management, social policies, talent acquisition, etc.).
  • Establish HR procedures and ensure their compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements (labor law, collective agreements, etc.).
  • Advise management on necessary actions in correlation with local labor laws.
  • Implement development, orientation, employee training programs, and workforce planning (evaluate future recruitment needs, formulate plans to meet those needs, etc.).
  • Ensure effective skills management (identify competencies and talents within the company, assess their criticality).
  • Support employees in developing their key competencies (training, development, learning, etc.).
  • Develop and manage a talent acquisition plan or sourcing strategy using various methods and tools available.
  • Oversee and organize the personnel administration of Baobab+, managing employee relations on HR matters (payroll, leave, contracts, career development, etc.).
  • Lead social dialogue and negotiate with employee representative bodies (staff representatives, etc.) to balance company goals with employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure budget management of the payroll.
  • Manage internal communication.
  • Support and lead potential organizational changes.
  • Define, support, and evaluate the HR team.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the role as requested by the CEO.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Acquired Knowledge:

  • Understanding of social sciences (psychology, sociology, organizational theory, behavior, etc.).
  • Familiarity with regulations relevant to the HR field or industry.
  • Knowledge of labor legislation.
  • Versatility in all areas of human resources management: recruitment, training, labor law, career management, payroll.
  • Proficiency in computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Sage Payroll software e.g Workpay, etc.).
  • Basic proficiency in English.

Practical Experience:

  • Strong understanding of labor law and computer tools.
  • Mastery of negotiation techniques.
  • Proficiency in sourcing techniques.
  • Ability to manage a project from start to finish.
  • Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, given the diverse responsibilities of an HR professional.
