From the first concept designs to final build and maintenance, you will be responsible for the end-to-end software solutions that will have a high impact on Baker Hughes’ business.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Evaluation Skills: Understand the business requirements to come up with solutions in form of digital products or services. Assess conception designs to provide and give explanation for purposed solution.
  • Communication Skills: requires written and oral communication speaking clearly, concisely, and without misinterpretation.
  • Presentation Skills: required to give presentation of ideas and projects to business stockholders, explaining proposed architecture solution, present their findings, and have the ability to explain why a product may not fit business needs.
  • Listening skills: paying close attention to the speaker engaging to ensure the essence of the conversation is understood for design work. Being respectful and polite about letting other speak and knowing when to initiate conversation
  • Strong integrity at a workplace with qualities of being honest and having strong moral principles of never putting Baker Hughes at risk.
  • Problem Solving Skills: ability to listen, analysis, research, communicate, and making decisions that help make impactful solutions to problems

  • Technical Architecture skills - understanding of technology architecture that encompasses business, data/integration, application, technical/infrastructure (network, compute, storage) technologies.
  • Cloud Compute - Design, highly available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, scalable systems within AWS and Azure (Google Cloud Platform GCP not required but a plus).
  • Networking - basic understanding of interconnected computing devices that can exchange data and share resources with each other, communication protocols to transmit data over physical or wireless technologies; VPN, Firewall, and Load balancing, Web Application Firewalls (WAF) concepts, OSI model, DNS.
  • Cybersecurity - basic understanding of security that prevents unauthorized access to organizational assets including compute, networks, and data;
  • Container engines - basic understanding of container engines and deployment concepts. Container engines including Docker and Kubernetes along with its cloud platform variances.
  • Database - basic understanding of relation and non-relational databases, database engines, and deployment concepts
  • Storage - basic understanding of file, block, and object storage types and deployment concepts
  • Identity Access Management - basic understanding of authentication and authorization services. Including OICD, SAML, Active Directory, SSO.
  • CICD - basic understanding of continuous integration and continuous deliver using technologies such as AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions.
  • ITIL - Information Technology Infrastructure Library - Basic understanding of IT best practices for application lifecycle management
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect - Exam AZ-305
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or CISSP
  • Network+ or CCNA
  • Microsoft Office 365 products (such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Visio.
