As a Principal in Product Performance Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing corrosion protection strategies for our clients' refining facilities.

As a Downstream Chemicals Process Corrosion Specialist, you will be required to:

• Develop and maintain domain expertise in corrosion and corrosion control for downstream chemical processes
• Design, test, and implement corrosion protection solutions for refineries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans, including design, installation, and testing of corrosion protection systems
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients on corrosion protection and management practices via written reports and direct customer interface
• Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices in corrosion and corrosion controlParticipate and lead internal training classes
• Travel up to 20% of the time

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in corrosion engineering, chemical processing, or related field
• Strong knowledge of corrosion damage mechanisms in the refinery, corrosion mitigation strategies, and refinery operations
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Additional Desired Characteristics:

• Experience in formulating and testing corrosion inhibitors
• Experience with metallurgical analysis for failed material(s)
• Proficiency in the use of commercial process simulation software (e.g., PRO/II, HTRI) and a working knowledge of electrolyte modeling / simulation
