Job Description Summary

Baker Hughes has identified the need for a Strategic Account Sales Manager – Downstream Chemicals to execute upon our product line sales strategies and accelerate market share growth in North America.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own regional sales strategy execution to accelerate market share and revenue growth with targeted customers, regions, and/or industries.

  • Proactively identify and approach new potential strategic customers.

  • Build and establish strong, long-term relationships with key customers.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer or market needs and share internally.

  • Recommend solutions and innovative ideas to meet strategic customer or market needs.

  • Act as a liaison when needed between key customers and internal teams.

  • Prioritize opportunities to maximize sales and profits.

  • Propose and negotiate commercial terms associated with strategic sales targets.

  • Mentor field personnel involved with strategic sales initiatives.

  • Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare required financial reports.

  • Assure sales strategies are consistent with overall objectives for the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

  • 10+ years’ experience in refining, petrochemical, or industrial water treatment sales.

  • Proven track record of delivering top and bottom line growth in new markets / regions.

  • Complex sales experience and success.

  • Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and market conditions.

  • Comprehensive understanding of company products/applications and services.

  • Excellent business acumen.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude.

  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to travel – 50% on average.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 15+ years’ experience in refining, petrochemical, or industrial water treatment sales

  • Direct P&L management preferred

  • People leader experience preferred

  • Business development or corporate sales experience preferred

Locations:

TX or LA (flexible within North America)
