As the Regional Engineering Manager in Subsea Production Systems leads the technical engineering and technology teams that provide systems definition and solutions for customers through early engagement, tendering and execution of subsea projects. This leader reports to the Global Systems and Front End Engineering Manager and liaises with the Regional Segment Director for Surface and Subsea Products and Services. This leader has full accountability of systems engineering within led region across project lifecycle including:

As a Regional Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Early identification of opportunity pipeline alongside regional sales and commercial leadership teams.
  • Creation of visible and up to date systems engineering demand profile for region (by country)
  • Creating and leading regional systems engineering hubs (client proximity, country specific) as needed by the business to enable front end, tendering and execution of systems engineering across all project phases.
  • Accountability to systems solution build-up including technical readiness (liaison with product and technology leadership), systems suitability (validation of systems solution against customer and project drivers), and competitiveness (liaison with commercial leadership)
  • Accountability of progressive systems risk management across project lifecycle.
  • Liaison with front end engineering manager for deploying of engineers into pursuits.
  • Skills and competency management of regional systems engineering resources including:
  • Performance management, up skilling, and training.
  • Deployment of engineering teams to meet demand set by commercial and project leadership.
  • Active participation in Long Term Deal Strategy sessions to project regional demand for systems engineering
  • Responsible for leading Baker Hughes Regional engineering program from Early Engagement through Tendering and Execution.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Have at least 15 years’ experience in oil and gas projects, 10 years in subsea and at least 5 years’ experience in leading teams
  • Obtained a Professional Engineering License/Chartered Engineer is desirable..
  • Have proven experience in Architecture definition for subsea production system.
  • Be able to travel internationally for project needs and for short term assignments.
  • Have the ability to create and lead multi-diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Possess an excellent inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to synthesize information, identify problems, establish facts and deduce solutions.
  • Have excellent report writing and presentation skills
