About the Role
As HSSE Manager, you will lead and coordinate all aspects of ARC Power’s Health, Safety, Social and Environmental programmes across our Mozambique operations. You will play a critical role in embedding a culture of safety and compliance, supporting our teams to meet regulatory requirements and uphold ARC Power’s commitment to sustainability and wellbeing.

You will:

• Develop and implement HSSE policies and procedures in alignment with national laws and international standards.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, maintaining a comprehensive HSSE register and ensuring all obligations, inspections, and reports are up to date.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and internal audits to identify hazards, assess performance, and recommend improvements.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, ensuring root causes are addressed and lessons learned are shared.
• Design and deliver HSSE training and awareness programmes, empowering employees to take ownership of safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to promote safe working practices across all projects and facilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, auditors, and key external stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance and trust.
  

This is a hands-on and impactful management role at the intersection of safety, compliance, and sustainability. You’ll work closely with the International Compliance Manager and site teams to ensure that ARC Power continues to deliver energy responsibly and safely across all its operations.

Preferred Experience & Skills

Essential:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in HSSE or OSHA compliance management, monitoring, or implementation.
  
• Demonstrated success in building or managing compliance systems and driving continuous improvement.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to implementation.
  
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with high attention to detail.
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, with the ability to influence and engage others.
  
• Proficiency in digital tools and computer applications relevant to HSSE management.
  
  

Desirable:

• Experience in developing or auditing HSSE management systems.
  
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards.
  
• Valid driving licence.
