Commercial Data Analyst (Reliever Role)
Apollo Agriculture
What you will do (Responsibilities)
- You’ll work alongside our Commercial and Data teams to translate business needs into technical tasks. You will help the group prioritize requests so that we are always focused on the most important goals.
- You will work to identify the trends and patterns in data. Your analysis will give the team the evidence they need to improve sales, growth, and customer satisfaction.
- You’ll help create and maintain the dashboards that teams across the business use every day. You will be responsible for auditing these tools to ensure the information we share is always accurate and reliable.
- You’ll play a hands-on role in helping our Commercial teams get comfortable with data. You will train others on how to use our dashboards, helping them move toward more confident, data-backed reporting.
- When a manager or team member has an ambiguous request, you’ll help define it. You’ll work with the Engineering to make sure our systems are actually built to serve the goals of the business.
- You will work under the guidance of senior analysts and the Technology team who will help you sharpen your technical skills. This is a chance to take your experience and skills existing and apply it to complex, real-world operations.
What you bring to the team (Requirements)
- You hold a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field. You understand the basics of how data is structured and how systems connect.
- You have 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with data. You're comfortable going beyond spreadsheets to explore datasets and find the "story" behind the numbers.
- You're comfortable writing SQL queries involving joins, aggregations, and CTEs. You can read and understand existing queries, and you're able to troubleshoot issues with guidance. Experience with a modern data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus. Exposure to dbt, or an interest in learning how we use it to build and maintain data models), is a bonus.
- You have some experience using Python for data tasks, including things like cleaning data with pandas, writing simple scripts, or automating repetitive work. You don't need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable picking up new tools and learning as you go.
- If you already have a good understanding of Apollo’s dashboards and internal systems, you’ll have a significant head start. We value that institutional knowledge as it helps you bridge the gap between our data and our commercial goals even faster.
- You have the ability to take a technical concept and explain it simply to a non-technical teammate and vice versa.
