About the Role
Apollo is looking for a professional with experience in marketing and communications to join our growing team in Lusaka. You will work closely with our Global Growth team to develop communication strategies, marketing initiatives, and materials for our customers and partners. This role will report to our Commercial Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-create and execute our customer acquisition strategy;
  • Develop the approach to field promotion events (including agricultural district and block shows) and agro-dealer activations. Create best practices and ensure that the sales team are trained on them and execute them
  • Liaise with the Sales team to organize or attend events such as van activations and field demos with our partners (i.e. seed and fertilizer suppliers).
  • Work within a budget and towards pre-set KPIs. You will ensure that marketing spend per customer is in line with Apollo’s goals. Collaborate with senior team members to monitor and optimize Marketing customer acquisition costs (MCAC).
  • Achieve brand awareness and love for the Apollo brand;
  • Collaborate on planning awareness initiatives in designated districts, utilizing channels such as radio, out-of-home or other media to ensure a return on investment. Additionally, identify agencies or suppliers and negotiate the best terms with them for media services
  • Devise creative campaigns to engage our audiences, cultivating strong brand ambassadors who align with our value proposition.
  • Co-create content for flyers, posters, billboards, and all other printed materials with our brand designer and illustrator, including translations to the required languages if necessary.
  • Develop the communications for our customers and partners;
  • Create simple, engaging, and clear communications for our diverse audiences, utilizing mediums such as SMS, IVR messaging, group WhatsApp comms, Social Media, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders (Training team, Product, Growth, etc.) to ensure accurate and cohesive communication tailored to our various audience segments.
  • Execute approved communications according to agreed timelines.
  • Work with service providers and digital platforms to send out communications.

Requirements:

  • Have 4+ years of professional experience in a marketing or communications role
  • Creativity & Excellent Writing Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in English, Nyanja, and Bemba with exceptional writing abilities.
  • Proficient with Excel/Sheets: Comfortable working with data and paying attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive and good with Feedback: Willing to ask questions, share opinions, and contribute to the overall communication strategy.
  • Self-Driven and Collaborative: Able to work independently and as part of a team, thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Adaptability to diverse cultural contexts and willingness to engage with local farmers and communities across districts in Zambia
  • Software adoption: Open to learning and utilizing new software platforms, including OpenAI, Infobip, and Intercom.
  • Time Management: Strong ability to manage tasks and deliver outputs on time.
  • Passion for Communication: Keen interest in working and growing in the field of copywriting and/or communications
  • Have Design skills and knowledge of graphic design tools are a plus
