- Provide clear leadership and direction to your Service Line team members on all aspects of our work related to this role, including (but not limited to) business development, project delivery, project resourcing and client management
- Manage Service Line resources with particular attention to recruitment and retention to maximize opportunity, project delivery and profitability
- Performing people management responsibilities for the Service Line
- Manage key client relationships and projects, in consultation with the Climate Operations Leader
- Develop and deploy Water Stewardship strategies to help clients realize business value and impact
- Lead business development activities related to the Water Stewardship offerings, including sales calls, actively engaging with new and existing clients to establish and/or grow the relationships in accordance with our client management approach, and developing and/or stewarding proposals and marketing materials
- Managing the Service Line’s financial and operational activities, working closely with the Climate Operations Leader and internal support resources as may be appropriate
- Define leading offerings to take to the market, including developing supporting materials, e.g. sales materials, proposal, budget, and deliverable templates, etc. as well as monitoring market developments to evolve the current offerings, tools and approaches to meet and exceed client needs
- Contributing to thought leadership on your offering internally and externally
- Responsible for all aspects of quality assurance for the Service Line’s offerings
- Recruit, develop/ mentor, retain and manage talent, to achieve performance excellence, within the Service Line, and under the guidance of the Climate Operations Leader
- Establishing close ties and work collaboratively with other Service Line Leaders, in the NA region, and their equivalents, in other regions, and share best practices as well as lessons learned

Summary of Role:
To meet the high demand from North America and global clients for our expertise in developing and delivering solutions to address shared water challenges, we are looking to recruit a Service Line Leader for our Water Stewardship Service Line at the Principal Consultant or Associate Director level. The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record of helping companies develop effective strategies to advance net-positive water stewardship goals as well as measuring and managing water-related risks and opportunities, transparently reporting on progress, and developing and implementing solutions to contribute to proactive restoration of watersheds.
Our ideal candidate will be someone with a robust understanding of developing and implementing water stewardship strategies across an enterprise, inclusive of the full cradle to grave value chain. You will possess a proven track record of experience in tackling sector specific water challenges and experience in implementing solutions to restore watershed health and advance corporate water stewardship. You will be expected to keep abreast of solutions for identifying and reducing critical water risks to clients’ businesses, seize water-related opportunities, and contribute to water security and the Sustainable Development Goals. This role will also require a keen knowledge of emerging regulatory and technology developments and ability to implement strategic and tactical initiatives in response to emerging opportunities. An understanding and experience of effective project management is essential.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Demonstrable leadership ability
- Able to drive operational effectiveness, leading to operational excellence
- Demonstrated proficiency in selling ideas, identifying strategic opportunities, and delivering measurable results
- Degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, supply chain, business, project management, conservation and/or comparable relevant experience. Private sector experience desirable.
- 10+ years’ practical experience with corporate water stewardship.
- Expertise in building and coaching high-performing teams
- Excellent client and project manager
- Adept at managing internal and external relationships
