Key responsibilities:

Financial Data Entry and Record-keeping:

  • Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system, including invoices, expenses, and payments.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

Reconciliation:

  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial reports.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Conduct variance analysis to track budget vs. actual performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgets.
  • Analyze expense reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in budget review meetings and provide input.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Help maintain financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Cash Management:

  • Assist in managing daily cash flow, monitoring bank balances, and reconciling accounts.

Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure that financial transactions are conducted in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Help maintain a well-organized audit trail.
  • Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Summary of role:

As a Junior Financial Manager at Anthesis Climate Neutral Group, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial management and planning processes of our organisation. You will work closely with the senior financial management team to gain valuable experience in financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years previous experience as an accountant, financial assistant or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a strong desire to grow in a finance career.
  • Ethical and professional conduct.
