About Ampersand
Ampersand has grown from a tiny, bootstrapped R&D garage project in 2018 into East Africa's leading electric vehicle operation, with a team of over 200 staff drawn from diverse backgrounds and we plan to see all 5 million taxi motorbikes in East Africa electric by 2030. We are rapidly scaling our operations, and we are looking for innovative professionals who are passionate about clean energy and environmental impact to lead and contribute to our rapid growth.
About the role
In this role, we are looking for a driver who will be in charge of collecting faulty batteries from stations and distributing repaired ones after maintenance. The Van Driver will be responsible for:
- Operating Ampersand Van & Bike
- Loading and unloading equipment or items between various destinations
- Picking and dropping the batteries from different stations
- Supporting the vehicle and battery rescue where necessary
- Supporting the procurement and logistics team where necessary
- Providing and collecting different documentation for delivery
- Keeping logs of the vehicle maintenance

Minimum requirements
- Must hold a valid national driving license, with category A, B
- Must Have a High school Diploma (A2)
- At least 3 years of experience driving a car and 3 years driving a motorcycle or 5 years doing both.
- Must be able to make a report.
- Preferably with a basic mechanical background or simply able to do basic maintenance of the vehicle.
- Must be physically fit.
- Rwanda is national.

East Africa’s 5 million moto taxi drivers are some of the hardest working people on the planet. Many days these drivers work more than 13 hours yet end up with little money in their pockets. Our energy and vehicle service platforms offer savings that can double a driver’s income.
