AltGen is seeking a talented Head of Product to join a digital solutions company based in Stellenbosch. The role will lead the development, commercialisation and growth of the company’s product portfolio, while managing a team of specialised Product Developers responsible for their respective portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic: Product commercial strategy and portfolio management; Product-market positioning and monetisation; Go-to-market strategy
  • Tactical & Operational: Product-market fit; Sales enablement; Product commercial performance
  • Lead the development, commercialisation and growth of the company’s product portfolio.
  • Identify market opportunities and translate them into product initiatives.
  • Define and shape customer value propositions aligned to market needs.
  • Develop and implement monetisation and pricing strategies.
  • Drive go-to-market execution for products and solutions.
  • Act as the commercial owner of the product portfolio.
  • Ensure products are strategically aligned and commercially viable.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth across the product portfolio.
  • Lead portfolio prioritisation and product governance activities.
  • Ensure focus on high-impact opportunities and minimise unnecessary portfolio complexity.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Product Management team.
  • Foster a customer-centric and commercially focused product culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Engineer, IT or related field
  • 6-8 years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Commercial Management, Business Development fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies
  • Experience with managing product portfolios and product lifecycles
  • Experience in pricing, proposition development, and product monetisation
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and commercial outcomes
  • Commercial acumen is required
