We are looking for a Finance intern to join our team based in Cape Town.

About Aerobotics

Our mission is to provide intelligent tools to feed the world. We provide tree and fruit insights to growers, in 18 countries around the world, enabled by drone imagery and artificial intelligence.

We have analysed over 300 million trees and 50 million fruit to date. Our team of 50+ people is based out of Cape Town, but have commercial offices in the USA, Portugal, Chile and Australia. Everything that we do and every decision that is made is driven by our Core Values.

About the role

This is an exciting paid internship opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced and dynamic scale-up environment. We’re looking for someone to join us part time from November 3-4 months, with potential to stay with us at the end of the internship. We’ll focus on setting you up for success in the Finance team, providing you with on the job learning and opportunities to grow, and provide lots of support. What we expect from you is a strong eagerness to learn, initiative with solving problems, ownership in completing your tasks on time and team work.

Our mission at Aerobotics is to help farmers grow as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The Finance team contributes to this by reporting on monetary trends and generating information to support decision making for the wider internal Aerobotics team. Your role as an intern will contribute by enabling the finance department to continue improving on the efficiency and effectiveness of the information being reported on.

Responsibilities

As a Finance Intern, you will be responsible for:

  • Administration of expense claims
  • Refreshing bank statements and performing bank reconciliations
  • Calculation of basic components of cost of sales
  • Age payables oversight
  • Adhoc administrative tasks
  • Support the Group Reporting manager with adhoc requests
  • Support Head of People with adhoc requests

Requirements for the role

  • Strong interest to work and grow in the Finance space
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Proactive problem solver who takes initiative to figure things out
  • Fast learner who is eager to grow their skills in Finance Administration
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • BComm, Diploma or similar tertiary education or equivalent working experience is an advantage
  • Experience working with Xero is an advantage
